Obituary

Anthony J. Alberti, 87, of Franklin died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Janet A. (Moore) Alberti since 1981.

Born in Boston on June 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Emilio and Marie (Cappelotti) Alberti.

Mr. Alberti was a resident of Franklin since 1972 and proudly served in the Army during WWII.

He was an iron worker and welder for Union Local 7 in Boston for 40 years until his retirement.

Mr. Alberti volunteered at the Milford Regional Medical Center for 16 years and was an avid New England sports fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by eight children, Dianne Snowden and her husband Donald of Canton, GA, Joseph Alberti of Albuquerque, NM, Linda Durham and her husband Edward of North Reading, Karen Paul and her husband Michael of Plymouth, James McFarland and his wife Teri of Attleboro, Paul McFarland and his wife Elaine of Franklin, Lisa Moran and her husband Michael of Millville and Scott Alberti and his wife Luisa of West Roxbury and ten grandchildren.

He was the father of the late Christopher Alberti and brother of the late Gino, Frank and Bruno Alberti.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Calling hours on FRIDAY MORNING from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral Mass at St. Brendan Church, 382 Hartford Ave. in Bellingham at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made to the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect St, Milford, MA 01757.
