NATICK: Edward Paul Geishecker, age 81, a longtime Natick resident, died Wednesday evening, February 1, 2017, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Ann D. (Sullivan) Geishecker for 53 years.
Born and raised in the Savin Hill neighborhood of Dorchester, he was the son of Edward and Catherine (Corbett) Geishecker. Ed was a 1954 graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and continued his education at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. He had just completed his Master of Science at Ohio State when he started a two-year stint with the Army.
Ed and Ann married and made their home in Brighton prior to settling in Natick in 1965. He joined Ionics, Inc. (General Electric), a company that manufactures and markets water purification and wastewater treatment equipment worldwide. Ed was highly respected as a dedicated and knowledgeable Vice President of Sales and Marketing who retired after more than 30 years with the company.
Ed and Ann shared their love for 53 beautiful years and enjoyed countless laughs, joy, and happiness with each other. A man whose life revolved around his family, he and Ann enjoyed packing up the family and heading off for a two-week camping trip each year. Always exploring new locations, they camped throughout New England, occasionally going as far south as Virginia or as far north as Prince Edward Island. Ed was involved in his children’s sporting activities, from coaching little league baseball, shuttling sleeping hockey players to predawn ice time, to cheering from the stands at afternoon soccer matches. He and Ann were happiest when surrounded by family, particularly their grandchildren.
He is survived by Ann, their much-loved children, Paul E. Geishecker and his wife Christine of Medfield, Timothy A. Geishecker and his husband Andrés Consuegra of Washington, DC, and Joanne Geishecker of Natick; their adored grandchildren, Hayden, Ethan, Nolan, and Elise; and his sisters, Mary Olbrys and her husband Frank of Hyde Park, Catherine Toland and her husband Bernard of Quincy as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Elise Grant.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Saint Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick, on Wednesday, February 15th, at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
