Roger Dale Danforth, 73, of Enigma passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Pastor Ronny Vice officiating. Mr. Danforth will be laid to rest at Enigma Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Daniel West, Kevin Perryman, Brint Danforth, Jerry West, Kenneth Perryman, Jimmy Albritton, Jock Taylor, Jon Griffin and Hunter Danforth will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan English and Jason Connell.
Born October 25, 1943 in Tift County, Mr. Danforth was the son of the late Emerson W. Danforth and Bertie Stewart Danforth of Enigma.
He served in the United States Army, was a farmer and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
He was a Christian, who loved his Lord and Savior and faithfully attended Grace Baptist Church in Tifton. His favorite Bible verse was Psalms 121:8, "The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even forevermore".
Mr. Danforth is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda Ireland Danforth of Enigma. His quiver was full with children and grandchildren, who he loved deeply. They are Julie and Daniel West of Ashburn and Haley and Kevin Perryman of Hartsfield. His grandchildren are Anna West, Whitney, Brooke, Seth, Ethan, Wyatt and Eli Perryman. He has one sister, Yvetta Kimmell of Tifton and one brother, Michael Danforth of Enigma. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
