James C. Amaral, age 91 of Taunton, passed away on February 2, 2017 at Marian Manor.
He was the beloved husband of the late Emelia “Emma” (Machado) Amaral.
James was born in Taunton, a son of the late Joseph and Edmina (Arruda) Amaral.
Before retirement, James was employed 1943 to 1960 with the former Eureka Manufacturing, from 1960 to 1963 he was employed with the former Wood Specialties and in 1963 he established the Amaral Cleaning Service that all the immediate family members worked for.
James was a life member of the Taunton Elk’s, he enjoyed wood working, playing cards and watching the Red Sox. Most of all he was a hard worker and was devoted to his family.
Mr. Amaral was the Father of Eric J. Amaral and wife Trish , Diane L. Santos and husband Albert, Debra A. Butts and husband Mike all of Taunton, and Keith Amaral-Cusson of Arkansas. Grandfather of 7, great-grandfather of 6. He was also the brother of Francis J. Amaral of CT and brother of the late John Amaral, Joseph Amaral, Antone Amaral, Mary Rezendes , Alveda Bouchard and the late Edith Victoria.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 6th from 4 to 7 pm in The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton.
Mr. Amaral’s funeral and burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his memory made to a charity of one’s choice, would be deeply appreciated.
