Obituary

Mary DelGiudice, 101, died peacefully at Hopkins Manor in North Providence, on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. She was the wife of the late Anthony DelGiudice, Sr. who died in December, 1992.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Angelina and Gaspar Massa. She had lived in Greenville for over 50 years.

She is survived by her son: Anthony and his wife Lauraine of Smithfield, her daughter: Diane and her husband Edward Lanzi, Sr. of Cranston, her grandchildren: Lisa Correia, Edward Lanzi, Jr, Christy Lanzi Rivard, and her great-grandchildren Michaela Rivard and Morgan Correia. She was predeceased by her brother John Massa and her sister Nancy Cardillo

Mary was an artist and designer who began making her own clothes at the age of twelve. She worked as a dressmaker at Sorority Shops and Miss Baker’s before retiring at the age of 75.

Mary loved spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of St. Philip Church and Ladies Guild. She enjoyed activities as a member of the Smithfield Senior Center. Mary participated in the annual Ancient & Horribles July 4th Parade multiple times.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, February 3, at 1pm in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation respectfully omitted.
