Mrs. Alice J. Amaral, of Taunton died Wednesday, February 1 in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Ferdinand Amaral. She was born 91 years ago in Raynham, the daughter of the late John and Mary Amaral. She was educated in Raynham and had been a Taunton resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Alice had been employed as an attendant for the former Paul A. Dever State School for over 20 years. She enjoyed going to the beach, camping and spending time with her family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Parish in North Dighton.
She leaves: 1 son: Kenneth Amaral of Norwich, Ct.; 1 daughter: Marianne Gendron of Taunton; 1 brother: Clarence Amaral of Taunton; 1 grandson: Christopher Pemberton of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. Alice was also the sister of the late Mary Pinto, Rose Perry, Agnes Souza, Alfred Amaral, and Manny Amaral.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, February 6 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the funeral, Monday, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.
