Marilyn M Haley, 77, of Lawrence passed away at Mary Immaculate Health Care Center on January 31st after a short battle with cancer.
She was born in Methuen and attended schools in Lawrence, she received her Registered Nursing degree at St. Joseph’s Nursing school in Lowell.
She worked as a pediatric nurse at Bon Secours/ Holy Family Hospital for 40 years. During that time she received numerous awards and commendations. Marilyn was active in sports she participated in Bon Secours Softball and bowling leagues. She taught Tower Hill girls T-ball and Girls Senior League Softball for many years. She enjoyed, painting, ceramics, traveling, and reading. She was a member of the ladies of Ancient Order of Hibernians.
She was a member of our Lady of Good Counsel Parish. she is survived by her sister Maureen are with whom she lived, her brothers Thomas A. and his wife Eileen, Steven A. and his wife Jean A., Gerald V. and his wife M. Madeline, 18 nieces and nephews, 22 grand nieces and nephews, 4 great grandnieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents: James and Marie B. (Nolet), brothers James A. and John T. and nephew James P.
Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Augustine Chapel, 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA, a funeral mass will be said in her name at 11 a.m. following the calling hours. A burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen, MA. 01844, or to a charity of one’s choice.
