WALSH, RITA EARNER (GORMAN) of South Boston, formerly of Watertown passed away peacefully in her 97th year on February 1, 2017.
Wife of the late George L. Walsh and John J. Earner, Jr. Loving mother of Judith Conley, Ellen Nashawaty, John “Jay” Earner and his wife Jeanette all of Quincy. Joanne Roberts and her husband Kenneth of Rockland, Elizabeth Magee and her husband Richard of Brighton, Anne DiCamillo and her husband John as well as Thomas Walsh all of Florida. Jane Maxim and her late husband Rick and Barbara Walsh all of Waltham. Marjorie Hatten and her husband William of Newton. Peter Walsh of Watertown and George “Larry” Walsh of Norfolk. Predeceased by her parents Thomas H. and Ellen V. (McCarthy) Gorman and her 14 brothers and sisters. Survived by her cherished sister Dorothy Manning of Hyannis. Dear Nana to Jean Conley, Jennifer, Richard and Joanna Magee, Christine Earner, Elizabeth, Lauren and Bridget Roberts, Daniel and Timothy DiCamillo, Ryan, Hayley and Abigail Maxim, Casey, Evan, Leah and Connor Hatten as well as Jake Parenteau. Little Nana to Christopher Conley, Olivia and Cameron Magee, Charlotte and Connor Aigen, Grace and Gavin Boucher, Ava Maxim as well as Nolan and Delaney Hatten.
Survived by many loving and devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Casper Funeral Home located at 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Friday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM at St. Monica Parish on Saturday followed by interment at New Calvary Cemetery.
