Paul J. Timmins Sr. of Canton, formally of Newton, died peacefully Monday, January 30, 2017. He was 82 years old. Paul was born in Boston on September 11, 1934, a son of the late Thomas, Sr. and Lucy (Kane) Timmins. He was raised in Brighton but spent his adult life raising his family in Newton.
Paul was a retired MBTA mechanic and served a number of years with the United States Army National Guard. Paul was a strong but caring man with a deep love for his family. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time in York Beach, Maine with his family and best friend Jake, his golden retriever.
He was the devoted husband of Sylvia Timmins (Mugica). Loving father of two children, his son Paul “PJ” Timmins Jr. and wife Michelle of Canton and his daughter Susan M. Timmins of Newton. Brother of the late Thomas, William, Jack and Mary Timmins. Loving grandfather of Olivia and Justin Timmins of Canton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman St. Canton, Friday from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gerard Majella Church, 1860 Washington St. Canton, Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery West Roxbury.
