WORCESTER-Jean Robertson (Miller) Amit, 91, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Odd Fellows Home. Her husband, Edward Amit predeceased her in 1990. She is survived by her daughter Susan R. Oliver and her husband W. Dain Oliver, Jr. of Yarmouthport. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Mary (Miller).
Mrs. Amit was born in Lockport, NY, daughter of the late Adolph A. and Ruth (Robertson) Miller. She graduated from Canajoharie High School in Canajoharie, NY and Becker Jr. College here in Worcester. She worked in Worcester as assistant treasurer and comptroller at the former M.H. Laipson & Co. for 33 years and L&J of New England as an accountant for 24 years. Mrs. Amit was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church, where she was clerk for many years.
Private graveside services will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, New York. Arrangements are in the care of Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.
