Gloria M. Henriksen, 90, of Oak Hill Road, North Kingstown, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at South County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Walter Henriksen, who passed away in April, 2012.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Elizabeth Mae (Kirk) Garbett. She had lived in North Kingstown for the past year and a half, following her residence at The Village at Waterman Lake in Greenville. She had also lived in Sarasota, Florida for 34 years where she had been employed at Sarasota Surf and Racquet Club before retiring. Prior to Sarasota, Florida she had lived in Greenville, RI for many years. During her residence in Greenville she was a member of the Greenville Baptist Church. She was a talented artist and an avid pianist who enjoyed singing, painting fine china, downhill skiing and being with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Antonelli and her husband, Christopher of Narragansett, a son David Henriksen of Providence, her grandchildren: Kimberly Antonelli of Johnston, Jamie Antonelli and his wife, Emily and two great grandchildren of Smithfield, and her brother, Radford Garbett and his wife, Paula of West Warwick. She was the mother of the late Todd Henriksen.
A private committal service will be held at the RI Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to American Diabetes Association
