Obituary

CHICOPEE – Connie F. (Bullock) Berneche, 53, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, January 28, 2017 after a two-year courageous battle with COPD. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on June 27, 1963. She was raised in Wilbraham and later graduated in 1981 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School. Connie worked as a self-employed medical transcriptionist for a local physician’s office. She also worked as a local waitress and later a Dining Room Manager at the Log Cabin in Holyoke. Connie was a former Director for the Chicopee Chargers Cheerleading Program. She was a member of the Western Mass Yacht Club in South Hadley. During her leisure time, she enjoyed camping, skiing, boating, reading, crocheting, writing and football. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Olive R. (Gore) Bullock; her sister, Christine Bullock; and her father-in-law, Leonard N. Berneche. She leaves her loving husband and best friend of 32 years, Lance N. Berneche of Chicopee; her three loving children, Evan Berneche and his wife, Carly, Eliza Berneche and Austin Berneche, all of Chicopee; her loving father, Thomas P. Bullock of Feeding Hills; her sister, Carey Clapp and her husband, Chris, of Feeding Hills; her brothers, Thomas Bullock of Pensacola, FL, Wayne Bullock and his wife, Dina, of Cheshire, CT, and Scott Bullock and his wife, Marlo, of Southington, CT; her half-brother, Peter Bushey; her half-sister, Amy Hall; her in-laws of the Berneche family including her mother-in-law, Jeanne Berneche of Chicopee; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lenore and Edward Salacinski of Chicopee, Leon and Regina Berneche of Belchertown, Lloyd and Vivian Berneche of Granby and Laurel and Robert Lafleur of Belchertown; and her many dear nieces and nephews, Amanda, Marisa, Adam, Andrew, Shaina, Neal, Lizanne, Mason, Owen, Sage, Joseph-William and Amanda B. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Saturday morning, February 4, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in her memory to the American Lung Association, 393 Maple Street, Springfield, MA 01105.
