Obituary

NATICK: Pamela (Goodale) DeSimone, age 75, died peacefully at Sunrise Senior Living of Wayland on January 25, 2017. She was the devoted wife of James L. DeSimone, who died in July after 48 years of marriage.

Born in Boston, she was the middle daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (Dewart) Goodale. Pam was raised and educated in Manchester-by-the-Sea and went on to graduate from Bradford Junior College. She and James married and made a home for their family in Wellesley. They settled in Natick 15 years ago.

Above all else, Pam loved being a Mom. She took special care to make sure her children knew how loved they were and dedicated her life to their well-being and happiness. In addition to being a wonderful Mom, Pam enjoyed working for the Wellesley Townsman, where she was employed during the 1980s and 90s. In her later years, skiing became a great love of Pam’s and she often could be found on the slopes with her sister and niece. If not skiing Pam was busy using her sewing and baking skills to make gifts for family, friends and donations to church fundraisers.

A lady with a great devotion to her faith, Pam started each day sharing in the Celebration of the Eucharist with her friends and fellow parishioners at Saint Patrick’s Church. She found a profound strength and grace in her love of God and concentrated that energy on helping others. Pam was instrumental in raising funds through a bake sale at St. Patrick’s for Camp Arrowhead, a camp that was near and dear to her. Pam also had a great fondness for The Cor Unum of Lawrence , Saint Francis House of Boston and Saint Vincent DePaul of Natick all of these charities were particularly important to her and they were most grateful of her kindness and generosity over the years. The appreciation that she had for the love and support of her friends at Saint Patrick’s Parish was boundless. The serenity of this lady of love during her trying illness only reinforced the notion that an angel was returning to her true home in Heaven.

Predeceased by her son James in 2002, she will be sorely missed by her daughters, Jennifer DeSimone of Wakefield and Rebecca DeSimone of Natick; her sisters, Penelope Adams of Santa Monica, CA, and Elizabeth Capomaccio and her husband James of Wakefield; as well as by several nieces and nephews. She also leaves George, a very special cat who will miss her greatly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Tuesday, January 31st at 12:00PM. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.

The DeSimone Family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Senior Living of Wayland, Brookhaven Hospice, and Carlos Campos and his aides, Anne, Azucena, Elizabeth and Mavis, for taking such special care of Pamela.
