Obituary

Ricardo “Lino” Baldassari, of Medway formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on Friday, January 27, 2017 at home with his loving family surrounding him. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Mazzoni) Baldassari who passed away in 2009.

Born on October 14, 1916 in Gassano, Italy he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Stella (Mazzuchi) Baldassari. Mr. Baldassari grew up in Italy and came to America in 1946. He was a resident of Hyde Park since 1948 before moving to Medway 9 years ago. Ricardo worked as a mechanic at Parker Danner in Hyde Park for over 30 years and was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4. In later years he enjoyed gardening, walking and traveling.

He is survived by his children, Richard Baldassari and his wife Lorraine of Sharon, Elmo Baldassari and his wife Linda of Westwood, Steven Baldassari and his wife Lorraine of Norfolk, Mary Price and her husband Bill of Medway, and Ellen Karlin and her husband Keith of Medway; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Antonio Baldassari and wife Graziella of Italy, and sister Maria Baldassari of Italy and sister-in-laws Florence Mazzoni of Canton, Violetta Gabelloni of Italy and Bianca Baldassari of Italy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway on Wednesday, February 1st at 9:15AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village Street, Medway. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
