TEWKSBURY - Michael Joseph Dyer, age 60, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully on Thursday afternoon, January 26, at Lowell General Hospital - Saints Campus. He had been in residence at Tewksbury Hospital for several years, and had dealt with severe and debilitating mental health issues throughout his adult life, always supported, deeply loved, and cared for by his family.
Michael was born in Cambridge, one of eight children of Gladys (Donelan) Dyer of Lowell and the late Thomas G. Dyer, who died in 2003. He attended Walter Dearborn school in Cambridge, Mass. Mike enjoyed music and movies. He also had a great sense of humor and lightness of spirit, loved his family, a cup of coffee and the bible.
He leaves his siblings, Christine Vaughn of Manchester, NH, Thomas Dyer and his partner Joanne DuBay of North Chelmsford, Theresa Kramer and her husband Christopher of Jacksonville, FL, Joseph Dyer of Derry, NH, Marianne Davidson and her husband John of Nashua, NH, Meg Trainor and her husband Brian of Nashua, NH, and Edward Dyer of Lowell; an uncle Edward Donelan of Clearwater, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday morning, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Tewksbury Hospital, Saunders Building, 365 East Street, Tewksbury. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Tewksbury. Kindly omit flowers. Memorials to the National Alliance on Mental Health, N.A.M.I.
