Irene L. (Perreault) Geoffroy 94, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday January 26, 2017 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough, following an illness. She was the beloved wife of Edmond R. Geoffroy, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage.
Born January 18, 1923 in Chicopee, MA, a daughter of the late Candide and Flora (Rainville) Perreault, she was a former 80 year resident of Chicopee Falls, before moving to Franklin 10 years ago.
She was raised and educated in Chicopee and was a 1941 graduate of Chicopee High School. She worked at the former American Bosch Company until becoming a homemaker to raise her family.
Irene enjoyed watching sports, reading, crocheting, knitting and word find puzzles. She will be remembered for her love of her husband and family, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
She was very active in several ministries at her former church; St. George’s in Chicopee and served as an officer of the Ladies of St. Anne.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Claire M. Perry and her husband Rodney of Franklin, her grandchildren, Suzanne Sheehy and her husband Michael of Westford, Christopher Perry and his wife Renee of Millbury, Jennifer Coste of Franklin, Kimberley Perry and her companion Seth Machia of Johnson, Vermont, 7 great grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.
She was the sister of the late Yvonne Dupuis, Ernest & Theodore Perreault.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Tuesday Jan. 31st, at 11AM in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin. Interment at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1390 Main St. Agawam, MA will be held Wed. Feb. 1st at 2PM.
Calling hours at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. will be held Tuesday from 9-10:30AM.
