Rose H. (Wrubel) Gallant, 82, of Auburn passed away Thursday Jan. 26, 2017 in Lanessa Extended Care, Webster.
Rose was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Edward and Helen T. (Zaleski) Wrubel and lived in Worcester for most of her life. She has resided in Auburn for 12 years. Rose graduated from David Hale Fanning School. She leaves three sons, Joseph L. Dufresne, III and his wife Susan M. of Whitinsville; Daniel R. Dufresne of Southbridge and David P. Dufresne and his wife Tamara N. of West Brookfield; a daughter, Patricia M. Thomas of Worcester and two adopted sons, Robert Gallant and Steve Brackett. She also leaves two brothers, Anthony J. Wrubel and Benjamin C. Wrubel and his wife Claudette, two sisters, Dorothy McGlynn and Mary Ann Rondeau all of Worcester and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her late husband Ralph E. Gallant and by a daughter, Katherine A. Dufresne.
Mrs. Gallant was a member of Sacred Heart –St. Catherine of Sweden Parish and the American Legion Auxiliary, Chester P. Tuttle Post 279. Rose loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a foster parent for a time and also hosted foreign exchange students for several years. Rose was an avid bowler and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, playing cards, and trips to the casinos.
The funeral will be held on Monday January 30, 2017 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart Church at Sacred Heart - St. Catherine of Sweden Parish, 600 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday January 29, 2017 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
