Lawrence Franklin Hale, 87, of Mystic died on Monday, January 23, 2017 at his home. His wife, Bess Hale, predeceased him in 1986.
He was born on April 8, 1929 in New London , the son of Wells Lester Hale and Elsa Elvera Hanson Hale. He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1954.
Larry was an Electrician and worked for many years for Thames Electric, Local #90.
He is survived by his brother Gary Hale of Killingsworth and his sister June Swedberg of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota and his 7 grandchildren and 3 great children, who lovingly called him "Papa". He is also survived by his beloved companion of 34 years, Amy LaVallee and her sons, William, Robert and David LaVallee.
His family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, January 28, from 9 to 10:30am at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic, with a Funeral Service following at 10:30am at the funeral home. Services will conclude with burial with full military honors in Elm Grove Cemetery, Route 27, Mystic.
