NEW BEDFORD - Jane Lewin Chace, age 96 years, of Dartmouth, died January 22, 2017 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility after a period of declining health.
The wife of the late Donald M. Chace, she was born in Nantucket, daughter of the late John Milton Lewin and Helen Barnard Soverino and lived in Dartmouth much of her life.
Jane was a registered nurse and a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing.
An active member of the Smith Mills Christian Congregational Church and the Tri Delta Women's Group, she enjoyed her many travel adventures.
Survivors are her son Jonathan Chace and his wife Carol of S. Easton, Ma., and her daughter Martha Blatchford and her husband Peter of New Gloucester, Maine, and four grandchildren Helen and Geoffrey Chace and Jonathan and Hanna Blatchford.
She was the sister of the late Helen L. Ferreira.
Her funeral will take place on Saturday the 28th of January at 9:30 a.m. at Smith Mills Christian Congregational Church followed by burial in the South Dartmouth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Nantucket Cottage Hospital.
