
BELMONT - Donald C. Poirier, 79, of 46 Lakewood Dr., died Monday, January 23, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.
He was born on December 11, 1937 in Middleborough, MA., the son of the late Raymond and Eileen (Pierce) Poirier. Don served in the US Army. He worked for several years for Papertech in Contoocook. He also worked for Erving Paper Mills. He loved to paint and enjoyed reading.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice (Wood) Poirier of Belmont, one son, Robert Poirier of Ridley Park, PA, one daughter, Tammy Carignan of Laconia, one brother, David Poirier of Virginia, three grandchildren; Jesse Poirier, Benjamin Poirier and Michael Buckland, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers; Raymond and Francis Poirier, one step-brother, Edwin Chase, one step-sister, Elmira Chase and one son-in-law, Peter Carignan in 2016.
There will be no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date.
