Yvonne D. Lambert, age 93, passed away on Jan 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home. She was born on July 6, 1923 in Chicopee to the late Romeo and Ledia (Jacques) Dube. She was a lifelong communicant of St George Church in Chicopee before its closing and is a current parishioner of Holy Name. Yvonne was an avid reader, never missed an episode of Jeopardy, and enjoyed nothing more than sitting in her gazebo surrounded by her birdhouses made by her husband. In her earlier years, Yvonne loved to garden, play cards, and visit with friends. Everyone who knew Yvonne knew where you would find her on a Saturday morning…surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren for break with the biggest smile on her face. She leaves two sons, David Lambert of Chicopee and Garry Lambert and his wife Michelle of Chicopee; one daughter, Gloriann Asselin and her husband John of Seminole, FL; six grandchildren Pam Nadeau and her husband Damion, Doug Lambert and his wife Kate, Michael Lambert, John Asselin, Kristen Fitzgerald and Christopher Asselin and his wife Angela also ten great grandchildren, Wyatt, Parker, Clara, Andrew, Miles, Margaret, Elise, Rachael, Aiden and Faith. Yvonne was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years Henry Lambert who passed away in 2014; also by two brothers Eugene and Leo Dube and two sisters Nolelia St Marie and Jeanette Lajeunesse. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Excel Nursing along with the staff at Western Mass Elder Care for their loving care of her for the past few years. Although she had a very short stay at Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home the family would like to thank the very caring staff who helped Yvonne with much care and respect. A funeral Service will be held on Thurs, Jan 26, 2017 at 8:45 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Name in Chicopee. Burial will follow in St Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Wed, Jan 25, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
