Obituary

Mary I. (Sullivan) Santoro, of Natick, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Natick at the age 91. She was the beloved wife for 67 years of the late Louis F. Santoro who died in 2014.

A Natick resident for 54 years she was born in Newton and raised in Wellesley, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Mary I. (Burke) Sullivan.
Mary and Lou were married November 5, 1946 and the couple made their home in Wellesley prior to moving to Natick in 1962 where she created a warm and loving home for their growing family of five. She would later welcome 10 grandchildren and 10 great grand-children with an equal love and tireless devotion.

In her early years, Mary was employed with New England Telephone Company in Wellesley and in her later years did volunteer work at the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. Mary was known for her exceptional cooking, was an avid Red Sox fan and animal lover especially birds.
Mary and Lou enjoyed traveling and many business trips during Lou’s career at Pepsi Cola East as well as vacations in Maine and Duxbury Beach with family and friends.

She is survived by her children Nancy A. Santoro McDonald and her husband James of Natick, Marylou Santoro Lewis and her husband George of Wilmington, Louis F. Santoro Jr. of South Portland ME, Janet Santoro Soldicich and her husband Michael of Natick, Jerome Santoro and his wife Sharon of Natick, ten grandchildren, William Gassett, Korey Gassett Avila, Jimmy McDonald and Sean McDonald, Michelle McDonald Ricard, Janine Soldicich, Jill Soldicich Karian, Julie Soldicich, Anthony and Samantha Santoro, ten great-grandchildren, Tyler, Owen, Lily, Domenic, Aidan, Mary, Isabel, Teagan, Layla, Mae Louise, many nieces and nephews, and her B.F.F. ‘s Doodie Janiak, Rita Galvin, Peggy Connors, and Olga McCraw.
She was also the sister of the late John T. Sullivan, Joseph A. Sullivan, and Rita A. Fennel Goodwin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at the Good Shepherd Parish in St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main Street, Wayland on Friday, January 27 at 10:00 A.M.

Visiting hours in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common are Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
