Obituary

Mary E. Liberty, 95, of Harris Avenue, Johnston, died Saturday, January 21st in the Hospice Intake Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Liberty. She was married to the love of her life for 71 years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late William and Zetta (Tillson) Hardy. She grew up in the Cranston Village and had moved with her young family to Greenville. She had lived in Smithfield for 60 plus years, before moving to Johnston. She had been a Press Worker with the former Jewel Case in Cranston.

She was a Majorette in the Brainerd Drum and Bugle Corps of Cranston along with her mother and two sisters. She was the matriarch of her immediate family and many of her siblings' families.

She leaves her daughters, Delores M. Bread of Johnston, Barbara A. Aust of Chepachet, Evelyn L. Aust of Johnston and Karen M. Blanchette of Pascoag, sister of Miriam Larson and Elsie Sabitoni both of Cranston, Grandmother of 12, Great-grandmother of 20 and Great-great-grandmother of 6. She was the sister of the late Zetta Hardy, Horace Hardy, Raymond Hardy, William Hardy, Ruth Baumann and Shirley Turiok.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 24th at 9:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston.
