Obituary

Kristie L. (O’Connell) Mattingly, of Weston, died peacefully at her home in the presence of her family on Thursday August 25th, 2005. She was 49. Kristie was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 12, 1955. She graduated from Madeira, OH High School in 1973 where she was an honor student, class officer. She graduated from the Christ Hospital (Cincinnati, OH) School of Radiology Technology in 1977 where she worked and met David, her husband of 24 years. Kristie and David later lived in Newton, MA,, Louisville, KY and Wellesley, MA prior to moving to Weston, MA in 1990.
Kristie worked at the Boston College School of Management, The George Rogers Clark, Locust Grove Historic Home in Louisville, KY and Resolve, Inc. (1987-1990) where she worked to promote legislation that led to medical insurance coverage for infertility treatment. Kristie was a tireless volunteer for the Weston Public Schools (1997-2000) and the Carroll School, Lincoln, MA (2001-2005) where she served on the Board of Trustees and was elected president of the Parent’s Association. She also served as school photographer. Kristie enjoyed family life and reunions, art, cooking, nature, travel and her beloved dogs. Her beautiful smile, welcoming conversation, enthusiasm for life and addictive energy were enjoyed by everyone who met Kristie.
She was the beloved wife of David A. Mattingly, M.D., loving mother of Tyler A. Mattingly. Devoted daughter of Kathryn L. O’Connell, Cincinnati, OH and Edward J. O’Connell, Tampa , FL. Loving sister of Kathryn A. O’Connell, MD. and husband Jelles M. Fonda, M.D. of Baltimore, M.D., Karen O’Connell of Cincinnati, OH, Kimberly Grant and husband Matthew of Springfield, VA and Kay Williams and husband Mark of Gerard, PA. She is also survived by many other loving relatives and her beloved dogs, Andy and Rocket.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, on Monday at 9 am. Funeral mass in St. Julia's Church, Weston Center, at 10 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-5 pm. Interment Linwood Cemetery, Weston. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Kristie's memory to the Carroll School Teachers Endowment Fund, 25 Baker Bridge Rd., Lincoln, MA 01773.
