Francis E. Terra, age 92 formerly of Taunton, passed away on January 19, 2017 at The life Care Center of South Shore.
He was the beloved husband of Veronica ( Cabral) Terra.
Born in Taunton a son of the late Francis and Rose (Rose) Terra.
Mr. Terra was employed with the City of Taunton as a firefighter having retired in 1972 due to illness. He was a WWII and Korean Navy Veteran who loved gardening, enjoyed traveling, most of all was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family.
Besides his loving wife Veronica of over 69 years he is survived by his children Francis W. Terra of Falmouth and Cynthia Dedes of Cohasset, MA, brother of Rose (Betty) Davis of CT, grandfather of Athena, Alexander and Arianna, great-grandfather of Georgia and Calmina. He was also the brother of the late Alfred, Henry, Antone, Matthew, Francis Terra and the late Mary Tuthill.
Mr. Terra’s funeral will be held Monday, January 23, 2017 at 9:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Annunciation of the Lord Church First St., Taunton.
Interment with Military Honors will be privately held in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne MA.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00- 5:00pm.
