David J. Walsh age 68 of Stoughton, formerly of Canton passed away suddenly January 19th at home. Born in Boston, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. Dave was the Captain of the Canton High School Football Team and went on to play at Colorado’s Grand Junction Jr. College before an injury ended his career and prevented him from moving on to a Division 1 Football School. He then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University. He worked as a Seafood Broker and owned and operated Boston Harbor Fisheries and Walsh Seafood Sales before retiring. Dave was an avid golfer and a member of Wampatuck Country Club in Canton and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Beloved father of David R. Walsh and his wife Karen of Falmouth, and Renée A. Walsh of Somerville. Brother of Peggy Klenowski of South Hadley, Thomas Walsh of Scituate, James Walsh of Marshfield, Mary Merrigan of Providence, Richard Walsh of Boston and the late William Walsh. Grandfather of Findlay, Isla and Calum. Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday morning at 10. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 pm. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations may be made in his memory to Dana Farber or the American Stroke Association.
