Obituary

Angelo James Sardella, of Quincy, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Quincy Medical Center. He was 90.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph Angelo and Philomena (DeSimone) Sardella. Angelo graduated from Boston English High School with the class of 1943 as Class President. After high school, he proudly joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he became a shop owner and a private contractor in the garment industry.

A man of great faith, Angelo was devoted to prayer and would always pray his favorite prayer, “Hail Mary.” He was the kindest and most selfless man his family has ever known. Angelo was always giving, shared with everyone and made a point to take care of those who were in his life. As an employer he felt it was important to show support, and would always attend his employee’s families’ wakes. A wonderful story teller, he enjoyed being with others and they too enjoyed their time with him. In his spare time, Angelo enjoyed attending shows and sports, most specifically boxing and horse racing. He was a talented man with many gifts. Two that made him special were his intelligence and ability to master academics with great ease, and he was very street smart as well. Both helped him be successful throughout life.

Angelo was the beloved husband of the late Westin (Teebagy) Sardella, who passed away in 2012. He was the devoted father of Joseph “Jay” Sardella of Quincy and the father-in-law of Holly G. Sardella of Amesbury. The loving grandfather of Caleb Sardella of Medford and he was the dear brother of Connie Marino and her husband Sal of Boston’s North End and Grace Sullivan of Medford. He is also survived by his grandson’s mother, Kerry Malyerck of Medford.

At the request of the family, all services were held privately.

Memorial contributions may be sent in Angelo's name to the Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-030.
