George A. Wood, Jr. 80, of Derry, NH passed away at Parkland Medical Center in Derry after a sudden illness. He was born on June 30, 1936 in Henniker, NH, a son of the late Frances (Gould) and George A. Wood Sr. George was an antique automobile enthusiast. He is the proud owner of a 1956 Chevrolet and a 1931 Model A Ford.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Anna (Peterson) Wood, two sons, Mike A. Wood and Karl A. Wood and his wife Marcelle, one grandson, Stephen M. Wood, two great grandchildren, Sean Wood and Ayla Wood, his sister, Grace McGinnis, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Raymond Wood and two sisters, Margaret Dewar and Mary Raeski.
There are no calling hours. A Graveside service will be held in the spring in the New Cemetery in Henniker. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NHSPCA, PO Box 196, 104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH 03885. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
