SOMERSET… Elizabeth A. “Betty “(Kyryliw) Walmsley, 67, of Somerset passed away January 12, 2017 at her home following a brief illness.
She was the wife of Thomas Walmsley.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann (Mulyk) Kyryliw.
Mrs. Walmsley was a teacher in the Fall River School Department for many years, starting at Head Start. She also worked at the former Our Lady of Health Federal Credit Union. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Bristol Community College and UMass Dartmouth, formerly, SMU where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Fall River and St. Patrick’s Church in Somerset.
Along with her husband, survivors include her in-laws: James Walmsley and his wife the late Sheila and family of Florida, Robert Walmsley and his wife Jean and family of Somerset, William Walmsley and his wife Joy and family of Maine, several cousins and friends. She also leaves her beloved dog, Dalhia and was predeceased by her beloved dogs, Princess Angel and Koda.
In accordance with Betty’s wishes, all services were private. A Divine Liturgy was held at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Fall River and her burial took place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
Arrangements were entrusted to Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway Fall River.
