Miss Doris M. “Dot” Goulet, of Taunton, died Sunday, January 15 in Morton Hospital following a massive stroke. She was born 88 years ago in Putnam, CT., the daughter of the late Alfred D. and Alice (Martin) Goulet. She was educated in Taunton and had been a Taunton resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Doris had been employed as a footpress operator for the T.J. Holmes Company of Chartley for 51 years. She was a Gold Pin blood donor. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, watching John Wayne movies, and morning coffee breaks with her friends. She was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
She leaves her nieces: Priscilla Martin, Louise (LaFleur) Goulet, Catherine Cote, Karen Goulet, Louise Pineo, Anne Roster, Susan Smith, and many great nieces and great nephews. Doris was also the sister of the late Alfred C. Goulet, Sr., Norman Goulet, Noela McArrach, and Wilfred Goulet, and the aunt of the late Alfred C. Goulet, Jr., Ronald Goulet, and Andrew Goulet.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, January 20 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the funeral, Friday, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.
