Henry Daniel “Dan” Drawdy, 73, of Omega passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. T. J. Mauldin and the Rev. Marvin Williams officiating. Mr. Drawdy will be laid to rest at Baker Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 17, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Drawdy’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 21, 1943 in Berrien County, Mr. Drawdy was the son of the late Ida Ruth Sumner Drawdy and the Rev. Ernest “Leon” Drawdy. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Mae Ray Drawdy; and a brother, Dewey Drawdy. He was a retired diesel and tractor mechanic and of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and loved to camp and fish.
Mr. Drawdy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cooper Drawdy of Omega; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Stanley Railey of Alapaha, Anna and Randy Davis of Omega and Shelia and Jerone Rigdon of Nichols; four brothers, Donnie Drawdy and Jack Drawdy, both of Ty Ty, David Drawdy of Tifton and Bobby Drawdy of Omega; two sisters, Myrtice Mauldin of Albany and Faye Warren of Nashville; six grandchildren, Michael Railey, Clay Smith, Melissa Knight, Laressa Howell, William Smith and Tammy Marsh; and eleven great-grandchildren.
