Lucille B. (Mayer) Froh, 84, of Fairhaven died peacefully on Wednesday January 11, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Marguerite (Fournier) Mayer, she was raised in Acushnet. She was the wife of the late Harlyn H. Froh and raised her family in Acushnet. She later moved to New Bedford for many years, then retired in Fairhaven.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fairhaven.
Lucille graduated at the top of her class from St. Luke's School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital for many years until her retirement. She served on the board and continued to support the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her four sons, Harlyn "Butch" Froh and his wife Kimberly of Rochester, Michael Froh and his wife Cathy and Mark Froh and his wife Karol, all of New Bedford and David Froh and his wife June of Fairhaven; a brother, Paul Robert Mayer of New Bedford; two sisters, Theresa Saulnier of New Bedford and Germaine Bourque of Fairhaven; 10 grandchildren, Jeremiah Froh, Melissa Douglas and her husband Craig, Gregory Froh, Chad Froh, Ryan Froh, Eric Froh and his companion Brittney Pollard, Jennifer Henriques and her husband Mark, Jessica Stephens and her husband Patrick, David Froh and his companion Sonja Mayo, and Christopher Froh and his wife Marissa; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the longtime companion of the late Dr. John B. O'Toole, III, the sister of the late Roger Mayer and Rita Rhodes, and the grandmother of the late Harlyn H. Froh II.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Visiting hours are omitted.
