Doris V. (Sanders) Thompson, 93, of Anderson, died January 12 at Monticello House after an extended illness.
She was born October 28, 1923 in Anderson to Theodore Thorton and Lulu (Brooks) Sanders. She was a sales clerk for Hoyt Wright Department Store for 32 years.
She is survived by her children, Ray Thompson of Middletown, Melanie (Ed) Clawson of Anderson, Stephanie (Ron) Grissom of Markleville and Claude (Michelle) Johnson of Columbus; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great grandson; sister, Mary Patricia Eckhardt of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Byford Eugene Thompson died January 27, 2001, daughter-in-law, Lynn Thompson; granddaughter, Angie Thompson, four siblings, Paul, Margaret, Don and Jeanne.
Service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Matt Manning of St. John Lutheran Church officiating burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
