Obituary

Albert E. Turcotte Sr. 87, formerly of 300 Privilege St. Woonsocket died Tuesday in St. Antoine Residence in N. Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Rina (Decelles) Turcotte. Mr. Turcotte was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Severin and Bernadette (Jalette) Turcotte.
Mr. Turcotte was a kettle tender for the former Rochambeau Worsted Co. in Manville for fifteen years retiring twenty two years ago, he also worked as a waiter, cook and bartender at the Embassy Restaurant for twenty three years. He was a Lifetime member of the Cercle Laurier and the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks. He was a member of the Grey Panthers and served as Chairman in Woonsocket. He was a member of the Waterview Sr. Citizens and was the Woonsocket Senior Citizen of the Year in 2001.
Mr. Turcotte is survived by a son Albert E. Turcotte Jr. of Burrillville, two daughters Jeannine Ducharme of Woonsocket and Simonne Lapierre of N. Smithfield, two brothers Edgar Turcotte of N. Smithfield, and Omer Turcotte of Woonsocket, a sister Evelyn Pincince of Woonsocket, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Arthur and Leo Turcotte.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in All Saints Church Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday 5-9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave. N. Smithfield, RI 02896 in his memory would be appreciated.
