Obituary

Gerald LeBlanc, 80, of New Bedford, formerly of Tarpon Springs, FL, died Monday January 9, 2017 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Louise Yvonne (Blanchette) LeBlanc.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Edgar J. LeBlanc and Sarah (Furtado) LeBlanc Holmstrom, he lived in Dartmouth for many years before retiring to Florida. He returned to live in New Bedford last year.
Mr. LeBlanc was formerly employed as an equipment operator for the Town of Fairhaven.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed playing pool and watching football.
Survivors include three son, Michael LeBlanc of Florida, David LeBlanc of New Bedford, and Keith LeBlanc of Florida; a brother, Donald V. LeBlanc of Fairhaven; six grandchildren; four great-granchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late George and Edgar LeBlanc.
Private funeral arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
