Walter S. Hardiman age 74 of Jamaica Plain passed away January 11th at the Mass General Hospital. Born and raised in Boston, he graduated from Newman Prep in Boston and went on to receive his BA and MA in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Walter worked as a Carpenter for Brighton Marine Hospital for many years before retiring and previously worked as a Director for the Department of Youth Services. In his free time, Walter enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Beloved husband of Regina C. (Gauvin). Father of Stephen G. Hardiman and his wife Kelly of Weymouth, Theresa Strauser and her husband Thomas of GA, and Tiffany Farren and her husband John of Weymouth, and foster children, Darren Desisto of Milton, Paul Bercume of Franklin and Theresa Conroy of Kingston. Brother of John E. of Concord, Paula G. Grimes of Braintree, M. Brenda O’Reilly of Walpole, Kathleen C. McLaughlin of Wilbraham, Mary M. Meredith of W. Roxbury, David G. of Weymouth, Eugene C. and Paul G., both of IL and the late Virginia M., Albert J and George C. Hardiman. Grandfather of Caroline, Cecilia, Ronan and Cillian Hardiman, Anthony, Stephen and Damian Strauser, Veronica and Lilly Farren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
