Cheryl A. Rosato, of Middleton formerly of Wakefield passed away January 11, 2017, at the Beverly Hospital following a lengthy and courageous battle with ALS. She was 64 years of age. She was the beloved wife of James E. Rosato and together they shared 26 years of marriage. Born in Woburn she was one of six children of the late Eugene F. and Lois M (Matthews) Collins.
Cheryl was a graduate of Stoneham High School and also earned her Bachelor's Degree from North Adams State College. She worked for forty years prior to her retirement as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration. Over her forty years she made many wonderful friendships with coworkers that she cherished. In her leisure time she enjoyed skiing, gardening, reading, going to the movies or watching television with her husband. She was a talented cook and enjoyed baking. However her greatest joy was her family.
Along with her beloved husband, Cheryl is survived by her devoted son, Michael Rosato of Middleton. She was the sister of Nancy Minghella and her husband Victor, Jo-Anne Collins, Susan Collins, Lauren McLaughlin and her husband Barry, all of Woburn, and the late Stephen Collins. She was the loving aunt of Kevin, David, Lisa, and Brian.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, January 14th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service celebrated in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 127 Summer St., Lynnfield, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Friday, from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Cheryl's memory to the ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter, 315 Norwood Park South - 1st Floor - Norwood, MA 02062
