Obituary



Worcester – Armand J.B. Emond, 79, of Canterbury St. died on Wednesday August 24, in the Hospice Residence after a short illness.

Mr. Emond is survived by his wife Loretta (Champagne) Emond of Worcester; two daughters Linda M. Plant of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Joanne M. and her husband Michael Hart of Brookfield; one brother Edward T. Emond of Worcester; 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson, and 2 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a son Ronald A. Emond, and a brother Roland R. Emond Sr.. Mr. Emond was born in Worcester son of Charles and Alida (Jette) Emond. He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

Mr. Emond worked as a molder for 41 years at the former Standard Foundry in Worcester before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and volunteered at their bingo for many years working as the caller. Mr. Emond was also a member of the Molders Union 5B where he was the financial secretary and the treasurer. He was also the financial secretary for the northeast region of the union.

The funeral will be held on Friday August 26 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 10 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church 53 Illinois St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 25 from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Residence 10 Judith Road Worcester, MA 01602.
