Antonio E. Salvado, age 81, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 1, 1935 in Fundao, Portugal. He was a son of the late Joao Antonio and Maria (Dos Anjos) Salvado. Antonio served in the Portuguese Army and was stationed in Angola and India. He moved to the U.S. In 1975 and worked for Spaulding as a dye cast injection molder for many years before he retired in the late 1990's. He was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. He was a member of the Portuguese American Club. He is predeceased by his wife Ana D. (Clemente) Salvado, who passed away in 2008. He leaves his son John Salvado of Springfield; his daughter, Raquel St Pierre and her husband Guy of Feeding Hills, Agawam, 1 brother Jose Salvado of Portugal; 2 sisters, Lucilia Nogueira of Chicopee and Clementina Rodrigues of Pinnellas Park, FL. He also leaves his beloved grandson Spencer St Pierre. Antonio is predeceased by his brother Alberto Salvado. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
