Mildred J. Galvin, a 47 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 88 years of age.
Mildred was born in Boston on December 30, 1928, a daughter of the late Maurice Galvin and Florence (Harrigan) Galvin. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. Mildred worked as an assembler for an electronics company for many years until her retirement.
Mildred is the beloved daughter of the late Maurice Galvin and Florence (Harrigan) Galvin. She is the loving sister of David Galvin of Somerville, and the late Francis Galvin, Florence Morin, Lillian Galvin, William Galvin, Janet Galvin, and Thomas Galvin. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mildred's Funeral Service on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11 A.M in the Carr funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Thursday January 12, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
