WORCESTER-Evelyn M. (Forsberg) Lundgren, 100, formerly of Stebbins Street and Pleasant Street Towers, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing Center in Rochdale, where she resided for the last 11 years. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Alver U. and Hannah M. (Varg) Forsberg. She was predeceased by her husband E. Robert Lundgren in 1973 and her daughter, Elaine Lundgren in 1989. She is survived by her niece, Geraldine Hallgren of Old Saybrook, CT and Venice, FL and her friend Gary Marlborough and his family.
Evelyn worked at Northeast High Carbon Wire Company and State Mutual Insurance Company from 1936 until 1941. She then stayed home to raise her daughter. Evelyn was a cat lover throughout her life.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Meadows for the wonderful care they provided to Evelyn.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, January 11th at Quinsgamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at All Faith’s Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. Arrangements are in the care of Lindquist Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester.
