Manuel F. Alexander, age 72, of Westport, passed away on Monday January 2, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Claudette (Gonsalves) Alexander, and son of the late Manuel and Eva (Raposa) Alexandria. He worked as a laborer for the Conrail Railroad for 20 years and worked maintenance for UMASS Dartmouth. Manuel was a people person who loved playing cards going to the casino and having fun with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Lisa Chevetone (husband Brett), Sheila Kut (boyfriend Rob), and Tammy Carneiro (husband Patrick), siblings Eileen Desmarias, Kathy Pacheco, Colette Sousa, Sue and John Alexander, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Lori-Ann Costa.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass in Manuel’s memory at Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. Internment in Private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
