Geraldine R. O’Brien, 88, of Londonderry, NH passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 25, 1928 in Somerville, MA, a daughter of the late Jeremiah J. and Edna M. (Blackwell) Moriarty. Mrs. O’Brien was a resident of Londonderry for over 30 years, formerly living in Wayne, NJ and Somerville, MA. She was a member of the Newcomers and Neighbors as well as the Questers and enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. Mrs. O’Brien was a communicant of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry.
She is survived by her son Timothy J. O’Brien and his wife Sandra of Tucson, AZ, her daughter, Suzanne Brunelle and her husband Gary of Londonderry, seven grandchildren, Phillip, James, Michael, Daniel, and Alana O’Brien, and Julianne and Andrew Brunelle, many great grandchildren, one sister, Edna Walsh of Nashua, NH as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald F. O’Brien in 2003.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Liturgy of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, January 11th at 10:00am in St. Mark’s Parish, One South Road, Londonderry. Burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
