Obituary

Emily G. (Hamm) Coakley, 90, of Medway, died January 4 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of the late James Coakley who died in 1986.

Born in Medway, January 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Grace M. (Butler) Hamm, Mrs. Coakley was a lifelong Medway resident.

She was a graduate of Medway High School.

Emily had been a certified health aide for the Greater Milford VNA for 23 years before retiring.

She had been a member of the Friends of Medway Elders, the Catholic Daughters, Court of St. Joseph, the Medway VFW Ladies Auxiliary and had been a hospice volunteer.

Emily enjoyed doing ceramics and quilting.

She is survived by her children, Robert Coakley and his wife Charlene of Medway, Lynn Wasnewsky and her husband Paul of Medway and Shirley Papadopoulos and her husband George of Greece.

She was the mother of the late Christopher Coakley and Joanne Bain and mother-in-law of the late Andy Bain.

She is survived by her brothers Kenneth Boultenhouse of Florida, Robert Boultenhouse of Wareham and Joseph Boultenhouse of Milford.

She was the sister of the late Francis Hamm, William Hamm, and Joseph Hamm.

Emily is also survived by many grandchildren great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 9, from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Medway Senior Center, 76 Oakland Street, Medway, MA 02053.
