George J. LaFleur, 88 of Hampstead, NH died Wednesday January 4, 2017 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA. Mr. LaFleur was born in Methuen, MA on December 13, 1928 a son of the late Wilfred and Rose (Bourgeault) LaFleur. He was raised and educated in Methuen, MA and had resided the past 35 years in Hampstead. Mr. LaFleur served at Ft. Devens with the US Army during the Korean Era. He was employed as an independent truck driver for many years. He later worked for Appleyard Transportation in Methuen and JP Noonan Transportation in Hooksett, NH.
He is survived by four sons, Daniel LaFleur of Londonderry, David LaFleur and his wife Susan of Sandown, NH, Michael LaFleur and his wife Nancy of E. Hampstead, NH, and Eric LaFleur and his wife Karen of Derry, one daughter, Diane LaFleur Peterson of Lynn, MA, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, three siblings, Philip LaFleur of Princeton, MA, Rose Ellsey of Worcester, MA, and Theresa Costa of Goshen, NY. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased on November 28, 2016 by his wife of 65 years, Elaine (Keyes) LaFleur and by his four sisters, Jeannette, Eva, Cecile, and Jean.
Calling hours were held on Saturday January 7, 2017 from 4:30 – 7:30 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A prayer service followed at 7:30 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framington, MA 01701.
