Obituary

Ed Fafard of Abington passed away peacefully on January 2, 2017 at the age of 88.

Ed was the youngest son of the late Elzear and Merilda Fafard, brother of the late Richard Fafard of Abington and Jeanette McKay of New Port Richey, FL.

Ed lived in Abington all of his life except when he served in the United States Army for a short period after graduating from Abington High School, Class of 1946. From there he attended Burdette College, and then was employed by Williams Coal and Oil of Braintree for 50 years before retiring.

Ed married his beloved wife, Louise in 1953. They raised a family of three in their ranch home in the Musterfield section of Abington.

Ed was well-known for his sense of humor as well as his devotion to God and family. He and Louise were avid round and square dancers and active members and officers of the Grange and church.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Louise A. (Wheaton) Fafard, his children Steven E. Fafard and wife Christie of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas A. Fafard and wife Lynne of Orange County, CA, and Joyce L. Fafard and partner David Randall of Braintree, MA. In addition to a number of nieces and nephews, Ed has four loving grandchildren: Samantha McPherson, Michelle Fafard, Alicia McPherson, and Alexandra Fafard all of Los Angeles, CA.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, January 8th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, MA. Ed's funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 9th at 10:00 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 322 S. Franklin St, in Holbrook, MA, with interment to follow in Mt Vernon Cemetery, Abington, MA.
