Donald B. Morse Jr. age 60, of Burlington, MA formerly of Saugus, MA and Stoneham, MA, passed away August 19th following a lengthy illness. He was the the beloved husband of Linda A. (Sherriff) Della Porta Morse. Born in Boston, MA he was the son of Lucille (Lemery) Morse of Vermont and the late Donald B. Morse Sr.
Mr. Morse worked for 43 years with the General Electric Company as a quality control manager. Over the years he worked for the company at their Massachusetts, Vermont, Ohio and North Carolina facilities. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Free Masons and the Aleppo Shrine. Mr. Morse loved animals especially his cherished pet dogs, Menyen and Doleene. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Morse is survived by his children, Crystal Sandler and her husband Martin of Bradford, MA, Sarah Morse and her husband Scott Stafford of Seattle, WA, stepsons Jay Della Porta and his wife Diane of Marion, NY, Todd Della Porta and his wife Jill of Billerica, MA. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Joshua Dempsey, Lindsay Sandler, Kyle, Gerald, Keith, Chad and Catia Della Porta. He is further survived by his sisters, Barbara Jane Goodrich of Springfield, MA, Mary Lee Leavitt of Vermont, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Sandra Sherriff of Swampscott, MA, mother and father-in-law Eileene and Joseph Sherriff of Revere, MA and many nices and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St. Woburn, Thursday, August 25th, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. Arrangements by the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Service of Woburn, MA.
