Stanley Belfonte, 80, of Berlin, passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Massachusetts on October 30, 1937 the son of the late Ernie and Florence (Murphy) Belfonte and had lived in Massachusetts, Laconia and Belmont, NH and Alaska before moving to Berlin 13 years ago, to be with Cecilia Nelson. Stanley had been employed as a truck driver for 40 years with the Dupont Company.
Family includes his son Stan Belfonte of Laconia, NH; granddaughters Lori McCracken of Canton, ME and Marcy McCracken of Jefferson City, TN; grandson Stan Belfonte of Knoxville, TN; 5 great grandchildren; a sister June Nillson of FL; brother Ernie Belfonte of FL; his companion Cecilia Nelson of Berlin, NH; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Alice (Gagnon) Belfonte on December 25, 2002 and an infant daughter.
