Obituary

David R. Raposa, 72, of Westport died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Pauline A. "Sue" (Lawrence) Raposa.

Born in Providence, he was son of the late John A. and Lena G. (Franco) Raposa. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army National Guard in the 107th Signal Corps. Mr. Raposa was employed by Spectrum Lighting Company, Fall River and was previously employed by J.A.R. Bakers Supply, Inc., Lincoln, RI. He was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.

Including his wife, survivors include 2 daughters: Renee Chemelowski of Tiverton and Michelle McGrath and her husband Ralph of Holyrod, New Foundland, Canada; a brother: John P. "Phil" Raposa and his wife Camilla of Westport; a sister: Claire I. Nauta and her husband Russell of Auburndale, MA; 3 grandchildren: Nicholas, Sara and Nina; a great grandson: Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Potter Funeral Home at 3:30 P.M.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2:30 - 6:00 P.M.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
