LEICESTER: Paul H. Beauregard 97 of Harberton Dr., died Monday, Jan. 2 in Quaboag Nursing & Rehab in W.Brookfield.
He was the husband of Ruth M. (Robertson) Beauregard who died in 2010. He leaves his children P.Thomas Beauregard of Cumberland, RI, Elaine Amendola and her husband Ralph of Cheshire, CT and Dennis Beauregard and his wife Cheryl of Tampa, FL, a brother Robert Beauregard of Brookfield, 6 grandchildren; Brett, Seth, Amy, Holly, Derrick and Heath, and 12 great grandchildren; Olivia, Ava, Calvin, Alexander, Ashley, Camryn, Kirsten, Matthew, Joseph, Jason, Landon and Kendall, who affectionately called him Poppy Beau. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Paul’s parents came here from Quebec, Canada and bought a 285 acre dairy farm in West Brookfield where he was raised. Later he and his Brother Bob operated the largest farm in Massachusetts, supplying milk to Hood in the 1930’s.
Paul was a lineman for 40 years at Mass. Electric in Millbury, retiring in 1984. Born in West Brookfield, he was the son of Joseph and Alida (Provencal) Beauregard and later graduated from Hardwick High School in Hardwick, MA. He was a skilled cabinet maker and built furniture for his family and friends. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish.
The funeral for Paul, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St.,Leicester with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish, 759 Main St., Leicester, MA, 01524.
